The Answer is in the Altrac? We are sometimes asked to undertake supply for the more unusual projects and in this instance we were requested to provide an Altrac Monorail for a bell tower to position 6 bells. The bells weighing up to 1000kg were to be positioned in a circular formation so each of the bell ringers could face each other to ring the bells in unison. To place the bells at the correct intervals along the Altrac with a lead in to their placement the Altrac was curved into a "?", as you can see from the photographs. To maintain the circular formation for the final position of the bells Altrac was rolled in 3 sections, each section of a different radius to form the required diameter of 3600mm

As shown in the above photograph an allowance had to be made for the lead in section to be rolled in one direction and yet still form a unique circle by rolling the third section in the opposite direction. Altrac may be rolled to a 1000mm radius and weighs less than 7kg per 1000mm.
